CABIN FAQs
|
Does Wood-Tex hook up to electrical, water supply, or sewer onsite?
No we don't. Your cabin can come fully furnished, plumbed and wired however it is up to the homeowner to make the connections.
Does Wood-Tex sell cabins in kit form?
If your site is simple not accessible to deliver your cabin fully assembled we can build it on site for a marginal fee but we do not sell kits.
What customizations can I make without drastically affecting the price?
This depends on a lot of variables. Generally modifications such as higher walls, steeper pitch roofs, custom sizes etc will affect the price to some degree. Everything is designed to be hauled down the road so even though raising the sidewalls may not cost very much it may make the cabin too high to haul down the road. Generally interior design is fairly flexible but again this depends on whether the cabin is double wide or single wide etc.
Can you make the roof steeper on the Adirondack and Weekender cabins?
Yes. The cabin will have to have the roof finished on site or ‘hinged' because the standard design is configured so
they are easy to transport. Raising the pitch of the roof will make the cabin too high to haul so there will be more
setup time involved.
What type of Wall/Ceiling insulation is standard?
Walls: R 13 Fiberglass. Ceiling: R 19 Fiberglass.
On a single story cabin Wood-Tex uses 2x4 studs standard which can handle up to R15 Fiberglass insulation.
On a 2 Story Cabin we use 2x6 studs standard which can handle up to R21 Fiberglass insulation.
Rafters are normally 2x6 and R19 Fiberglass insulation is used.
For additional R Value with Fiberglass insulation the cost is very minimal, it is usually simply a matter of upgrading the studs or rafters to accommodate the additional thickness in insulation.
Spray Foam insulation is also an option for great R Value.
Can these cabins be set on a concrete foundation over a basement?
Yes, see 'Site Preparation' for details.
If I live outside your free delivery range, what is the largest cabin you can fit on one truck to cut down on delivery
fees?
Wood-Tex will deliver any size cabin anywhere in the Continental USA and can fit a 14'x52' Single Wide Cabin or a 24'x26' Double Wide Cabin on one delivery rig.
Are the porch dimensions included in the overall footprint?
Yes, unless otherwise specified.
What some advantages of a prefab cabin?
Easy, Efficient, Economical and Enjoyable! Let Wood-Tex Products make the entire process an enjoyable and memorable experience for you!
What type of foundation do you recommend?
See 'Site Preparation' for details.
Are the cabins with the 4x4 skids portable?
Generally yes, they are portable. Double Wide cabins are split in half for shipping so they would require more effort to move but usually this is still possible. Site accessibility is probably the largest factorwhen moving a cabin. Also in most cases additions, porches, lean-tos etc will make it difficult to move later.
How soon can Wood-Tex arrive with my cabin?
Lead times vary depending on our work load and the features of your new cabin. Usually from the time you place your order until you are enjoying your new cabin less than 2 or 3 months have gone by, sometimes it's even a matter of a couple weeks!
